The reenactment was devoted to the events of October 1919 - second march to Petrograd by "white" Northwestern Army under General Yudenich. Gatchina was took by Whites on October 17 and in the next day the assault of Petrograd begun. However, they were stopped at Pulkovo Heights by squads of Petrograd's workers with marine artillery units and so called Bashkir task force consisting of Bashkir cavalry division and Bashkir Infantry Division. With enormous losses up to 10 thousand dead Whites where stopped. The battles were fought with varying success in October 21-25 and then the Reds began to press the enemy. Gatchina was left by Whites without a fight on the night of November 3, 1919.
